M60 traffic: Cars stopped near Stockport as police incident sparks long delays
Motorists on the M60 experienced traffic delays near Stockport due to a police incident.

Drivers on the M60 experienced delays on Thursday, from J1 (Stockport Pyramid) to J25 A560 Crookilley Way (Brinnington). Traffic was stopped on part of the M60 as well as a major Greater Manchester road, following a 'police incident'.
The A6 Wellington Road North was shut in both directions between the A5145 Travis Brow Link Road and A560 Leyland Street. Both closures were linked, according to the Inrix traffic monitoring service.

The M60 anticlockwise between J1 and J27 has reopened, but traffic remains around J1, particularly near Portwood roundabout.
'Concern for welfare' on A6
The incident on the A6 today was in relation to a concern for welfare for a person on Wellington Road North, Greater Manchester Police said. The issue has now been "safely resolved", the force added.
