Martina Navratilova: I've beaten my breast cancer
FORMER tennis champion Martina Navratilova has spoken of winning her toughest battle yet – beating breast cancer.
Navratilova, 53, was diagnosed with a non-invasive form of the disease earlier this year.
She had surgical treatment in March followed by six weeks of gruelling radiotherapy.

“Surgery was easy but the radiation was trickier. It was six weeks of really low energy. Radiation sucks your energy like a vampire.
“Even when it was over, it took a long time to get my energy back up. But now I feel as good as new. I have an excellent prognosis and I’m really doing well.”
The winner of a record nine Wimbledon women’s single titles is taking up a host of new sports including surfing. “I have the rest of my life to learn,” she said.
