Cars wrecked by bungling tree surgeon
ANGRY residents watched helplessly as a careless tree surgeon chopped down trees, dropping logs, leaves and branches on to cars parked in a busy street beneath.
One woman whose car was being dented by the debris pleaded with him to stop. But he ignored the 27-year-old personal assistant Sarah Croney and carried on regardless.
Sarah, whose car was parked outside her home in Cheltenham, Gloucs, said: “All he needed to do was put something through my door to let me know. This is a public place to park.”

She had arrived home from work the previous day to find her Rover 25 blocked in by fences and logs.
A nearby Toyota Rav4 SUV fared even worse – a log plunged through its sun roof as it was almost buried.
A cordon around the work area ensured pedestrians were not hurt but nothing was done to protect the cars from the falling branches.
Residents and onlookers were outraged. One, 80-year-old Dennis Moon, said: “It’s all wrong.”
Scaffolder Chris Pickup, 19, said: “It’s a joke. If that were my car I’d be climbing the tree to stop it.”
Police have arrested a man of 42 on suspicion of criminal damage. The council said the job was private and did not need their permission.
Rob Forrester, whose cherry-picker was hired for the job, said: “I’m horrified. As a tree surgeon for 12 years I’ve seen a lot of things but never anything like this.”
