Margate has been fondly referred to as Shoreditch-on-Sea with the seaside town being inundated by East London hipsters who have given up a life in the big smoke for a more calmer existence in this quiet seaside town.

Deal in Kent is only 16 miles away from Margate with a train journey from London only taking 1h and 46 minutes from London St Pancras on a Southeastern service.

The region has undergone several changes in recent years to cater to this new influx of hipsters, with an abundance of quirky vintage and antique shops including a fair share of funky bars and a thriving art scene to boot.
