Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan snared by tax trap
CROCODILE DUNDEE is being held captive – in his own country.
Film star Paul Hogan cannot fly home to his wife and child in the US until he settles a multi-million-pound income tax bill.
Hogan is said to fear he is being made to look like a fugitive.
The Australian Taxation Office slapped a Departure Prohibition Order on the actor when he returned last week for his mother’s funeral. Flo Hogan died aged 101.
Her son was served with a bill last month for A$37.6million, more than £20million. His lawyer Andrew Robinson said last night: “He is stunned and very disappointed that the government could treat him as a flight risk. Paul continues to vehemently deny any wrongdoing.’’
