Pretty village in fury as popular beach causes hell for locals complaining over one thing
The beach is very popular among holidaymakers looking for a staycation.
Locals in a popular UK seaside town have been complaining about travel chaos as holidaymakers flock to visit the beautiful beach.
Extra measures are being put in place to prevent a repeat of last weekend's traffic congestion after Newborough, Anglesey in Wales, residents described the situation as "the worst it has ever been".
Visitors heading for Newborough's beach, forest and the picturesque Ynys Llanddwyn were left stuck in their cars as temperatures soared.
The narrow, mile-long road leading to the forest was reportedly jam-packed, with locals claiming that queues on the A4080 stretched half-a-mile from the village.
Residents complained about being trapped in their homes, with some having to take lengthy detours to avoid the bottleneck.
Natural Resources Wales (NRW), which manages the National Nature Reserve, has now issued a statement warning future visitors about potential disruptions if they choose to visit.
The environmental agency expects more heavy traffic over the coming weeks and the August Bank Holiday weekend. It advised motorists to "prepare for the likelihood" of not being able to reach the site during peak times.
Last Sunday saw parking spaces become almost impossible to find across northwest Wales as both tourists and locals flocked to enjoy the sunshine.
The situation escalated to the point where an exasperated local felt compelled to call the police. Online, there was an outpouring of sympathy for those caught up in the mayhem.

One beachgoer expressed their concern, saying: "The whole area was gridlocked," and added: "I feel sorry for residents when the sun shines."
To reduce congestion on the tight access road to Newborough Forest's main car park, upcoming plans will alert drivers about other beaches when the parking is full.
Locals, businesses, and community groups from Anglesey have banded together earlier this year, hosting a workshop to brainstorm traffic solutions like revamping the car park system, suggesting alternative parking, and upgrading footpaths and cycle routes.
