Heartbreaking tributes paid as boy, 8, dies after being hit by car in quiet UK cul-de-sac
Despite the efforts of emergency services, Lennix Sutcliffe was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by a car in Dilton Marsh, Wiltshire, on Saturday.
Heartwrenching tributes have been paid to an eight-year-old boy who has tragically died after being struck by a car in a quiet UK cul-de-sac. The devastating incident occurred around 4.30pm on Saturday, with police and air ambulance services rushing to the scene in Dilton Marhs, Wiltshire.
Despite their efforts, little Lennix Sutcliffe was pronounced dead at the scene. A man is currently being questioned by police, although it remains unclear whether there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
Remembering her "bubbly and kind" son, who was a pupil at nearby Dilton Marsh Primary School, Lennix's mother Jackie Meredith said that her son was "loved by everybody".
She added: "He had so many wonderful friends. He had his birthday two weeks ago and had his whole life ahead of him."
His grandfather, Nigel Sutcliffe, added: "I'm broken over it. My little shining star has gone. We had a strong bond and we will miss him. I can't understand how something like this can happen."

Lennix's family are receiving support from a specialist officer, according to Wilthsire Police. A spokesperson added: "Our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time."
They added: "A man in his 30s is being interviewed, as is usual in these circumstances."
