Driver of 4x4 drives onto cricket pitch
A NEIGHBOUR fed up with cricket balls bombarding his home drove onto a village green cricket pitch in his 4x4 Toyota – then parked it on the wicket.
Players scattered as he reversed at speed across the grass and the match was abandoned.
Father-of-two Neil Cutts, a 38-year-old software engineer, snapped when a ball hit his home beside St Helens Village Green on the Isle of Wight for the fifth time.
Charlie Millington, 73, chairman of the 150-year-old club, said: “Everyone had to jump out of the way. Everyone was in shock.”
Mr Cutts said: “I don’t want them to stop playing cricket. I just wish they would be a bit more courteous.”
