Town's tears for murder riddle girl
THE father and brother of a strangled care worker yesterday led the mourners at her funeral after being questioned by police over her murder.
Ffion Wyn Roberts, 22, died after a night out with friends. Her body was thrown into a water-filled ditch near her home.
Younger brother Elgan Roberts, 20, and father Idris Roberts, 52, were arrested then later released on police bail.
The seaside town of Porthmadog, North Wales, came to a standstill as the cortege left fun-loving Ffion’s home and drove slowly to Salem Chapel where she went to Sunday School.
Many shops closed as a mark of respect to the popular young woman and the town’s Tesco store held a two-minute silence.
One mourner said: “Everyone was shocked when her father and brother were taken in for questioning.” One message on a website set up in her memory said: “God needed an angel.”
