Man dies after falling from cliffs above marina in Brighton as police rush to area
Police confirmed they received reports that a man had fallen to his death from cliffs above Brighton Marina.
Sussex Police has confirmed that a man died this morning after plummeting from a clifftop in Brighton.
In a statement, the service said emergency services attended the scene at Brighton Marina after the man fell at 8.35am today (January 20).
But they were unable to save the man, who was pronounced dead.
Locals had previously officers from Sussex Police on the cliffs above the marina.
They have set up a cordon on the clifftop path above the marina, with police and ambulance crews stationed nearby.
And they have informed the next of kin, according to a statement released by the service earlier this afternoon.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: "Police received a report of a man having fallen from the cliffs above Brighton Marina around 8.25am on Friday 20 January.
"Emergency services responded to the scene, where the man was sadly pronounced deceased.
"His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support."
