The 53-year-old is believed to have 'succumbed to the weather conditions' last weekend.
A man has died on a freezing walking home from a pub in Yorkshire in sub-zero temperatures. Jamieson Scott, 53, was reported missing after leaving the premises on Saturday (December 17) and failing to return home. The tragic incident happened in the market town of Beverley, in East Yorkshire.
Police discovered a body which is believed to be Mr Scott.
Humberside Police said the person "succumbed to the weather conditions", which had dropped as low as -2C in the area last weekend.
The Yorkshire Post report that, although no formal identification has taken place, his family have been informed.
Superintendent Rhod Troake said: "This is a tragic incident, and for his family and friends this is an outcome that no one wanted to see."
"Jamieson was reported missing after he had not been seen since he had left a public house in Beverley on December 17."
"It is thought that he had tried to make his way home and sadly succumbed to the weather conditions over the weekend."
"Although formal identification has yet to take place, Jamie's family have been informed and are being supported by officers."
"Our thoughts remain with them and his friends at this extremely difficult time."

The weather in parts of Yorkshire was particularly bad in the run-up to and during the weekend.
The Met Office had a yellow weather warning for ice in place over the weekend covering most of East Yorkshire, with temperatures dipping as low as -7 degrees C during the preceding week.
The warning talked of the chances of rural communities being cut off, travel delays, the possibility of injuries on icy surfaces, and potential power cuts.

Up to 12 inches of snow fell on some of the very highest points of Yorkshire over the weekend, creating extremely hazardous conditions for anyone travelling and leading to several road closures.
Extremely cold weather is expected to return to parts of the UK over the Christmas weekend.
