'Lost our vote!' Boris warned vital support gone after 'massive' Brexit fishing betrayal
BORIS JOHNSON has lost the vote of fishermen across the country after betraying them with his Brexit deal, a former MEP has claimed.
EU trying to ‘undo’ gains made in Brexit says Sammy Wilson
After selling out fishermen to agree the Trade and Cooperation Agreement last year, June Mummery, former MEP for the East of England, claimed the "golden goose is gone" for the Conservatives. Amid the anger across fishing communities in the UK following Brexit, Ms Mummery insisted the industry will never vote for the Tories again. Speaking to Express.co.uk, she said: "Soon as there's a general election, they're all going to be rushing down here.
"But they've lost the golden goose, that's gone.
"We're not going to lay any golden votes for the Tory party anymore.
"They will get no votes from us and they shouldn't dare come down to here.
"You've got to really be brave to come and ask for that vote."
Throughout Brexit talks, UK fishermen had demanded full control of Britain's waters stretching out 200 miles as parts of the Exclusive Economic Zone.
The UK had also demanded a 75 percent quota return after years of subjecting fishermen to the hated Common Fisheries Policy.
However, the industry was only handed a 25 percent quota return over five-and-a-half years.
EU fleets are also permitted to fish up to 12 miles off the UK coastline.

The fisheries element of the deal was also tied into the level playing field, meaning if the UK violated the former, the EU could suspend parts of the agreement.
Due to this, fishermen have spoken of their fury over being ditched by the Government.
Ms Mummery added: "We've had a massive betrayal.
"People talk about a kick in the teeth, this is the biggest kick in the teeth for the industry you can have.

"It's like saying to car manufacturers that you can't have your nuts and bolts for another five-and-a-half years."
The National Federation of Fisherman's Organisations (NFFO) also criticised Tory MPs who had ditched the industry.
Barrie Deas, chief executive of the NFFO claimed the fishing sector had now been forgotten by the Government.
He said: "Those Conservative MPs that were our most vociferous supporters were very quiet, about the implications of the TCA.
"That's the world that we're having to adjust to.
"The European Research Group, for example quite often referred to fishing as a poster child for Brexit but I don't think any of them came out and said this is a bad deal for fishing."
