Horror smash: Boy, 6, suffers 'life-changing' injuries after being hit by HGV lorry
A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy has suffered "life changing" injuries after being hit by a HGV lorry.

The child was taken to hospital by air ambulance following the collision. Surrey Police is investigating the incident. It described the boy’s injuries as “life-changing, but not life-threatening.”
The crash occurred in Leatherhead near a BP petrol station around 5pm on Wednesday.
In a statement, Surrey police said: “The driver of the HGV stopped at the scene and is helping officers with their investigation.
“He has not been arrested.”
The police are also appealing for eyewitnesses to come forward.
Anyone who used the BP petrol station or has dash-cam/helmet footage from the A245 Kingston Road between 4.50pm and 5.10pm, which may show the victim or HGV involved, has been urged to come forward.

The victim was with his family at the time and is being treated for serious leg injuries, the force said.
The public is urged not to speculate on the cause of the collision and to allow specialist investigators to carry out their work.

Surrey Police said the road was “closed to traffic while specialist investigators work to understand the cause of the collision.”
The A245 has now resumed operation in both directions.
Traffic news service INRIX said: “The short section outside the petrol station has now reopened, so all closures have now been lifted.
“Earlier, part of the one-way system was also shut but reopened around 8.30pm.”
