Birmingham manhunt after woman raped near Winson Green tram station
POLICE have released CCTV images in the hunt for a thug who raped a woman on waste land near to a tram station.
The victim was attacked at the back of Winson Green Outer Circle Metro station in Birmingham at around 7.15pm on April 14. Police have stepped up patrols in the area while specialist officers are supporting the victim.
British Transport Police (BTP) has released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to who is believed to have "information vital to their investigation."
Detective Inspector Granville Sellers said: “This is a very serious incident and I would like to reassure the public that since it was reported we’ve had officers carrying out vital investigative work and providing the victim with support.
“We ask anyone who knows the man in the image to contact us immediately.”
CCTV pictures show a man with dark hair and facial hair, wearing a dark padded gilet with a light hood.
He is wearing dark trousers and light Adidas trainers.
Dedicated and specialist officers are following many lines of enquiry.
