The busy commuter train station has been evacuated after the fire alarm was sounded. Witnesses say they have “no idea” what is going on but they heard police sirens. One person wrote on Twitter: “Liverpool street station evacuated, no idea whats going on but a lot of police sirens.”
A second person said: “An evacuation alarm going off at Liverpool Street followed by absolutely no one moving has got to be the most London thing that's ever happened to me.”
Transport for London have confirmed that Liverpool Street London Underground station is operating as usual.
Network Rail told Express.co.uk the evacuation was due to a scheduled fire alarm.
A spokesperson for Greater Anglia said: "This was a fire alarm test, this happens every Wednesday as scheduled."
