Sugababe speed shame
SUGABABES star Keisha Buchanan hung her head in shame in court as she was banned from driving for speeding.
She was disqualified for 21 days and fined £1,250 for driving her £50,000 Land Rover at 85mph in a 50mph zone on the M6.
Buchanan, 24, was clocked by police near Castle Bromwich, Warwickshire, in January.
The singer – the only founder Sugababe still in the group – appeared embarrassed during a 10-minute hearing at Nuneaton magistrates’ court.
She was also ordered by magistrate Christine Stockley to pay £85 costs and settled up immediately after the case on Tuesday.
A court worker said: “She was wearing sunglasses while she waited with her legal team.
“People walking past recognised her but she kept her head down and was clearly embarrassed to be there.
“Most people who get caught speeding don’t get fined as much but she didn’t seem fazed by the amount.”
Buchanan, who was brought up in central London, co-founded the Sugababes in the late Nineties.
They had their first hit in 2000.
