'We’ll just leave!' Brexiteer savages Macron for ‘poisonous obstructionism' on Brexit
BREXITEER MEP Geoffrey Van Orden argued that Emmanuel Macron and France have been attempting to “poison” the Brexit debate to obstruct the UK from leaving the EU.
Brexit: France have been ‘poisonous’ says UK MEP
Conservative MEP Geoffrey Van Orden took aim at Emmanuel Macron and France for their role in Brexit negotiations over the past three years. Mr Van Orden argued that Mr Macron had been attempting to poison other countries against the UK during the debate ultimately attempting to punish the nation for leaving the EU. The Tory MEP also reflected on the European Union’s shift in desire towards becoming a united European State as opposed to a union of countries.
He told Sky News: “Look, the conclusion of negotiations is purely a political matter.
“All the technicalities can be sorted out.
“It is pure politics, the obstructionism we are seeing from certain countries.
“France, in particular, have been poisonous in terms of negotiations with the United Kingdom.

“It is purely a political issue and people have to get real.
“None of us wants to leave without a deal but if we have to leave without a deal then we will.”
The Brexiteer also explained earlier in the interview that he was a strong Euro-sceptic and was unsatisfied with the issue of an “anthem” being played at the beginning of Parliament.
The Nigel Farage led Brexit Party turned away when Ode to Joy was played and a debate has surfaced as to whether this act was justified or childish.
Brexit: Lib Dem MEPs wear 'B******* to Brexit' shirt
Sky News’ Adam Boulton asked Mr Van Orden and Labour MEP Richard Corbett for their opinion on the issue.
Mr Van-Orden said: “For years the European Union has said that it doesn’t have the ambition to be a state.
“It is States that have an anthem.”
Mr Corbett interrupted to counter this statement by claiming that the Olympics also has an anthem.
The Tory MEP snapped: “I’m sorry but I don’t recognise a state called Europe, I want to see a Europe of independent nation states.

Mr Corbett again interrupted while questioning whether Mr Van-Orden would also remain seated during the Olympics opening ceremony while the anthem is being played.
The Conservative MEP shot back: “Don’t interrupt me, that is entirely different because there is no political aspect to that.
“Playing this so-called anthem is a deliberate political act and I don’t recognise.
“But on the other hand, I don’t behave insultingly.”
Determined to have the last word Mr Corbett stated that it was an issue of politeness as the Sky News host attempted to move the conversation onwards.
