Plymouth samurai sword attack: Police's TWELVE HOUR negotiation with assailant ongoing
A MAN wielding with a samurai sword has been locked in a stand-off with police in Plymouth for more than twelve hours.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 3.30am after a victim was attacked with the weapon near The Woodside pub. Officers are currently negotiating with the armed man who is barricaded inside a property in Gascoyne Place. Up to 10 units of police are attending the incident, including armed officers and trained negotiators.
Heated exchanges have reportedly been heard from the address.
And an area has been cordoned off with police tapes and cones.
The victim was taken to hospital but police said his injures were not life-changing or life-threatening.
They added that they do not believe there is a risk to the wider public and that the incident had been "contained" to the property.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "We are currently running an armed police operation.
"Armed officers are attending an address at Gascoyne Place after a male was assaulted with a samurai sword.
“The victim does not have life-changing or life-threatening injuries and there is no risk to the wider public at this time.
"Negotiations with the man are continuing."
