Essex stabbing: Man attacked with SAMURAI SWORD in broad daylight at Basildon park
A MAN was stabbed with a samurai sword during a horrific attack in Northlands Park in Basildon, Essex this afternoon.

The victim, who has not been named, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment at around 3.30pm, Essex Police said.
Forensic officers and a police dog unit were scrambled to Northlands Park as the scene of the attack was placed on lockdown.
Residents have also claimed they saw a helicopter hovering above the area.
No one has yet been arrested in connection with the stabbing but officers believe it was a "targeted attack".

The victim is not thought to have sustained serious injuries.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Officers are investigating after a man was stabbed in Northlands Park, Basildon, earlier today.
"We were called just after 3.35pm following reports that a man had been stabbed with what was described as a samurai sword.
"The victim attended hospital but did not require any further medical treatment.
"Our enquiries are ongoing and we believe this was a targeted attack.
"Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 775 of 04/09."
