'Doing my JOB!' Nigel Farage skewers Channel 4 reporter over private plane AMBUSH
NIGEL Farage was hounded by a Channel 4 crew upon his arrival for European Parliament talks in Strasbourg for taking a private plane - which he’d paid for himself.
Nigel Farage slammed for taking private plane to Strasbourg
The reporter cornered the former UKIP leader saying: “You were in London last night. I saw you on our programme. You are here this morning. How did you get here?” To which Mr Farage jovially replied: “Remarkable, isn’t it?
“A sort of Peter Pan-like existence.”
But the reporter continued: “Not by Eurostar. How did you get here?”
Mr Farage then responded: “No, no, no.
“I managed to get here - it wasn’t the cheapest thing I’ve ever done but I got here.”
The journalist bluntly replied: “A private plane. And who paid for that plane?”
The MEP quickly hit back: “Me.”
But the Channel 4 journalist wouldn’t let up, saying: “It’s a very elitist thing to do. You’re always ranting against the elite.”
The Brexiteer responded: “Well, if the taxpayer wants to fund it I’d be delighted. But I shan’t be asking them.
“The point is last time I was criticised for being in London not Strasbourg and now I’m being criticised for being in Strasbourg not London.
“I can’t really win, can I?”

The reporter fired back: “But you can’t rant against the elite when you’re behaving like one of its members.”
But Mr Farage was unambiguous: “Well I don’t know about that - I don’t get much sleep, I do my job, I try and represent the people that put me here.
“And I did four years ago lead the party that won the European elections.
“I do whatever I can do to do my job.”
His comment come as those in Strasbourg expressed shock at the enormity of Mrs May's loss in Parliament yesterday.
