London bloodbath: Man arrested after woman found dead in Poplar
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in Poplar, east London.
Police were called to a residential property in City Island Way following reports of an assault. Inside, officers from the Metropolitan Police found the body of a woman in her 30s who had sustained a neck injury. The victim has not been formally identified but police said her next of kin have been informed. The force said a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
Metropolitan police officers wrestle man to the ground
A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after attending a south London police station early this morning, where he remains in custody.
Police said it is believed the victim was known to the suspect.
Up to eight emergency services vehicles were seen by residents.
