SHOCK claim: Trump’s former adviser Scaramucci says Britain voted Brexit for THIS reason
PEOPLE voted for Brexit because “they feel like the fat cats” have not been listening to their “trials and tribulations” as they move from “aspirational to desperational”, Donald Trump’s former adviser said last night.
Brexit: Brits wanted representation from 'fat cats' says Scaramucci
Anthony “The Mooch” Scaramucci, the former White House Communications Director, was appearing on the BBC’s Newsnight programme when he made the comments.
Speaking to presenter Emily Maitlis, who asked why Americans voted for Trump despite his blatant “lies”, Mr Scaramucci said: “We know that he is not saying the truth.
“He probably even knows he is not saying the truth.
“What you need to understand about his base: they don’t care.”
He continued: “It’s based on that seismic feeling that they had been under-represented.
“It’s the same reason why people in your nation voted for Brexit.
“They feel like the fat cats in their society and the establishment in their society have not been listening to their trials and tribulations.
“They have gone from aspirational working class people to desperational.”
He added: “Everybody lies. When do we know when a politician is lying?
“When their lips are moving.”
Mr Scaramucci, who has recently released an explosive book painting Trump in a largely positive light, defended the President’s authenticity but conceded he disagreed with the Republican leader on many issues.
The American entrepreneur admitted he thought the child separation policy “was absolutely ridiculous” and that “of course” he had voiced his views to Trump.
Scaramucci warns UK on trade war: Trump WON'T change
He said: “You can disagree with someone but still like in general the policies they are putting together.
“You can’t have a black and white test - there is a lot of grey in our society.”
Mr Scaramucci’s new book, entitled The Blue-Collar President, tells the “inside story” of Trump’s unprecedented rise to power.
In the book, Mr Scaramucci discloses extraordinary anecdotes from his 30-year relationship with Trump, from early interactions in the New York City social scene to eye-opening experiences on the campaign trail, and shocking details about his brief tenure as White House Communications Director.
