M62 traffic latest: M62 lorry crash closes slip road in Liverpool
COMMUTERS are facing severe delays in Liverpool after a lorry crashed close to the M62 forcing a slip road to close and emergency services to scramble to the scene.
Crane truck overturned after crash blocking road near Liverpool
Motorists using the M62 this morning, Thursday August 30, have been told to expect delays following the crash.
Merseyside Police have said that there is oil and petrol on the road after the crash, which involved just one vehicle.
Roby Road has been closed in both directions and the road is blocked between Rimmer Avenue and Court Hey Road.
Witnesses have said that fire engines are attending the scene.

One man who witnessed the crash said to the Liverpool Echo: “I was heading in the direction of Huyton after turning from Chelwood Avenue.
"The lorry is right across the road outside Court Hey Park. Loads of traffic is turning around.”
Traffic information service Infix said: “M62 Westbound exit slip road closed due to an overturned crane on the A5080 Roby Road at J5 A5080 (Huyton).
“The slip road has been closed for traffic management purposes due to an overturned crane just off the motorway.”
Commuter Katy Dronsfield vented on Twitter: “Despise the M62 on mornings like this when I needed to be in work early.”
Merseyside Police tweeted: "Please be aware there has been an road traffic collision along Roby Road at the slip road to Junction 5, please avoid this area and find an alternative route."
The M62 is a 107-mile long motorway connection Liverpool and Hull via Manchester and Leeds.
