AFTER confirming he would not be returning to the X Factor this year, Dermot O'Leary is hot favourite to replace Jeremy Clarkson as Top Gear host.

The 41-year-old could be taking the driving seat on the popular BBC show, after Jeremy Clarkson was sacked following a "fracas" with producer Oisin Tymon.
According to Coral Bookmakers, Dermot has jumped to 2-1 from 4-1 following a sustained surge in overnight bets.
Second favourite to take over from the disgraced presenter is Guy Martin, whose odds have now been pushed out to 3-1.
Coral's Nicola McGeady, said: "Dermot O'Leary's decision to quit the X Factor has sparked a mega gamble on him taking over Top Gear."

She added: "Since O'Leary announced his decision to quit the X Factor, all the bets haven been placed on him becoming Clarkson's successor," added McGeady.
Meanwhile, the firm make Emma Willis the favourite to become the next X Factor presenter, ahead of Olly Murs at 5-2.
The singer's representative today told Express.co.uk: "Nothing is confirmed but Olly is in discussions."

Posting on Twitter, he said: "Good afternoon. After eight wonderful years on @TheXFactor it's time for me to move on.
"I'd like to thank ITV, Simon, The X Factor family and particularly the viewers, all of whom have been a big part of my life for so long."
He added: "I'd like to wish the team all the best for the future, especially whoever takes over from me.
"You're about to be the conductor on the most brilliant, runaway train in showbiz. Good luck you'll love it."
