The Script bring their Irish charm to the iTunes Festival at The Roundhouse
THE SCRIPT celebrated being number one in 14 countries with their new album 'No Sound Without Silence' by putting on a spectacular show at Camden's roundhouse last night.
Headlining night 15 of the iTunes Festival, the trio, who consist of Danny O'Donoghue, Mark Sheehan, Glen Power, clearly had the luck of the Irish on their side as they performed a string of fresh hits which was well received by the packed crowd.
Dedicated fans were treated to a selection of the band's biggest hits from their first three albums including Breakeven, Six Degrees of Separation and For The First Time.
However, these classic moments were few and far between as the audience seemed just as eager about their new material, including stand out tracks 'Superhero' which enticed many to join a united sing-a-long.
Guitarist Mark Sheehan explained to the crowd how his fear of heights and his bandmates constantly taking the mick out of him inspired 'Man On A Wire' which is featured on the LP.
He said: "They (The band) put on this documentary called Man on Wire, which shows this man who walked on a wire between the two twin towers in new York.
Adding: "He built this bridge to get over this woman."
Continuing with the theme of getting over exes , lead singer Danny, 33, – who looked every inch the rock star in black skinny jeans, a top and a waistcoat – got an audience member to call an ex-girlfriend so he could sing 'Nothing' down the phone to her.
The former The Voice judge ended their conversation with crowd shouting Goodbye A***ole to her.
As the night drew to a close Danny thanked fans for their support over the years and labelled the iTunes festival as "the best night in music".
For their encore the atmosphere glistened with fireworks and silver confetti as The Script joined the iTunes Hall of Fame.
