Strictly's Patrick Robinson drives them wild with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang routine
PATRICK ROBINSON will be hoping that his Charleston takes him to new heights this week on Strictly Come Dancing– as he takes flight in a magical car.
The Casualty actor is dancing with Anya Garnis along to the classic theme song from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for musicals week.
And to bring an extra dash of occasion to proceedings, the 50-year-old will be descending from the Strictly ceiling in a replica of the famous flying car.
Patrick was seen rehearsing his fun routine in the Elstree Film and Television Studios, and looked extremely excited as wires lowered him to the ground in the shining vehicle.
Partner Anya then joined him in the magical motor, before the pair practised their tricky Charleston routine.
The actor has a lot of weight on his shoulders again this weekend as he has been repeatedly called the best male celebrity in the competition by the judges.
But it's not just flying cars and stunts that are on Patrick's mind.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Patrick discussed his injury worries, saying: "I'm trying not to think about it. This one takes it on the knees. There's an old injury on my knee and sometimes it can get inflamed so I've got to keep my eye on it. If I do too much movement, then it gets fluid on it again.
"One of our lifts has a slide involved and basically Anya goes in between my legs. I could kick her in the nose or head if it goes wrong. It could be a matter of centimetres. I have kicked her a couple of times during training."
The star has had some injury woes already this series, after damaging his wrist while practising his salsa hip action on roller-skates.
As well as this, wardrobe malfunctions have stopped him achieving flawless routines.
But the strong dancer is hoping that it will all come together this weekend.
Patrick is currently the second favourite to leave the competition this weekend, at 9/1, while Mark Benton is the clear frontrunner to exit the show at 1/7.
Natalie Gumede is still favourite to take home the glitter ball trophy, while newsreader Susanna Reid is steadily moving up the rankings.
