Simon Cowell raises $1m for charity by singing the Power Rangers theme tune
SIMON COWELL spends his life judging people on their singing abilities, but the tables were turned on Tuesday night when he was made to sing in front of a crowd of people.
The X Factor judge was put on the spot after Haim Saban, the creator of Power Rangers, offered to give $1m to the charity Friends of Israel Defence Forces if he would join him in singing the show' theme tune.
And putting his dignity on the line for a good cause, the 54-year-old took to the microphone at the charity benefit in Beverly Hills and sang the famous line: "Go Go Power Rangers."
However, the ever-reluctant music mogul - who is expecting his first child with Lauren Silverman this year - then jokingly offered to donate $100,000 of his own money if he was allowed to stop.
The pair then agreed that Simon could sit back down if he donated $250,000, to which Simon gladly obliged.
And this isn't the first time the father-to-be has been forced to hit the mic.
Fellow X Factor USA judge Kelly Rowland persuaded Simon to show off his vocal talents after he slated an auditionee's performance.
Simon, who had previously vowed to never sing in public, obliged and was praised by judges Paulina Rubio and Demi Lovato, who said his rendition was "charming".
Kelly added: "I knew that voice was always there."
