Princess Charlotte's godparent divorces daughter of Duke of Northumberland after 3 years
ONE of Princess Charlotte’s godparents was divorced by the younger daughter of the Duke of Northumberland yesterday after less than three years of marriage.
Tom van Straubenzee and Lady Melissa Percy have been granted a 'quickie divorce'
Prince William’s friend Tom van Straubenzee’s wife, Lady Melissa Percy, obtained an undefended “quickie divorce” on the grounds of his unreasonable behaviour after a hearing lasting only a few minutes at the Central Family Court in London.
Property consultant Mr van Straubenzee, 33, who is known as “Van” and has been a close friend of the Duke of Cambridge since they were at Ludgrove prep school together in Wokingham, Berkshire, was one of five godparents at Charlotte’s christening at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, Norfolk, last July.

Both William and Prince Harry were guests at his wedding in June 2013 when the reception was held in Alnwick Castle, the ancestral home of his bride, Missy, 28, a tennis coach and close friend of Harry’s ex-girlfriend, Chelsy Davy.
The couple were not present when they were granted a decree nisi by District Judge Anne Aitken.
