Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s top ally announces huge UK decision
James Holt previously led the Archewell Foundation as executive director.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's former executive director at Archewell Foundation has revealed he's taken a major step in his career. James Holt, who began his collaboration with Harry in 2019, stepped down from his role at Archewell Foundation in December 2025.
After spending over half a decade working closely with Harry and Meghan, James has now confirmed he will begin a new role as Political Director for the Liberal Democrats next month. Writing in a new Linkedin post, he shared his exciting career news.
Mr Holt wrote: "This opportunity feels like coming home in more ways than one."
He also expressed his own concern about political discourse, stating: "As I watch the political landscape in the US and the UK splinter into further extremes and aggression, it's time to jump back in."
Mr Holt's appointment arrives just weeks before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to travel to Britain next month for events marking one year until the 2027 Invictus Games.
The couple's security arrangements for their visit have not yet been confirmed.
Despite no longer working for the Sussexes, it is understood that Mr Holt has been providing consulting services to the couple until this week.

Upon leaving Archewell, Mr Holt spoke warmly of his time with the couple.
He told GB News: "Working with Prince Harry and Meghan has been one of the great privileges of my career."
Meghan and Harry are travelling to the UK next month with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in tow.
