Prince Edward makes rare video appearance after Palace blunder
Royal fans share their delight at Prince Edward's appearance in a new video.

Prince Edward has made a rare appearance in a new video shared in honour of the The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award. The 62-year-old has used his voice to "spread the word" about World Clean Up Day, which is annually held on September 20.
World Cleanup Day is an international initiative encouraging people to remove litter and improve local environments through volunteer clean-up activities. The The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and the UK-based The Duke of Edinburgh's Award are set to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the DofE Award this year, which was founded in 1956 by Prince Philip.
In the new video, Edward said: "...This is an invitation to the whole award family, past, present and future to pick a project and make a difference in your community.
"All I am asking you to do is click on the click and spread the word. The more people that we manage to get involved in this, the bigger the impact, and perhaps, we'll have a cieaner world at the end of it. And, who knows, perhaps, more people will know about the award."
Royal fans appeared delighted by Edward's appearance, with one fan taking to X to comment: "How lovely to hear his voice as we don’t hear it very often. Such a great idea too!"
Another added: "Fantastic idea [gold-crown emoji] [red-heart emoji]."
The latest video comes just days after a major blunder was made by Buckingham Palace. The mix-up appeared in the Court Circular – the official diary of the Royal Family’s engagements.

It stated: “The Earl of Wessex, Colonel, Scots Guards, this morning attended the Regimental Gathering at Somme Barracks, Catterick Garrison.”
Edward became the Duke of Edinburgh in March 2023, with his previous title of Earl of Wessex bestowed upon his son, 18-year-old James.
The mistake was spotted by royal fans, with it being pointed out that it is no longer Edward's title – but instead his son's.
