Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are currently sixth and seventh in the line of succession, with their positions having stayed the same since their births in 2019 and 2021. The young royals are being raised in California, thousands of miles away from their cousins and relatives in the UK.

Archie, now aged seven, was born in the UK, whilst Lilibet joined the family one year after the family's move to the US. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had already been living away from the royal restraints for over a year when their daughter entered the world, but their adorable newborn was still placed in the line of succession.

Harry and his children are positioned after Prince William, who is next in line, and his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

In a poll conducted by the Daily Express, which ran between 6am on June 23 and 3.30pm on June 24, royal fans were asked if Archie and Lilibet should be removed from the line of succession.

Of the 5,316 people who cast a vote, 5,032 voted that they should be removed, whilst just 245 shared that they should remain in line to the throne.

An additional 39 people voted that they were undecided in whether they should be removed or not.

In the comments, royal fans continued the debate, with one writing: "They are being raised in the United States and have no real part in the monarchy. Same with Harry at this point. I see no reason why all three shouldn't be removed..."

With Archie and Lilibet being raised in the US, fans also expressed that this could be a reason that they should be removed.

A second fan added: "Of course they should be removed, they do not live in the UK..."

Bringing Harry into the debate, another added: "Harry should also be removed."
