Prince William and Princess Catherine sent a sweet gift to their niece Princess Lilibet following her birth in 2021, a new royal book has revealed. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their daughter a year after stepping down as working royals and moving to begin a new life in California.

It remains unknown if Catherine and William have ever met their niece, with the couple having spent little time with Harry and Meghan's son, six-year-old Prince Archie. According to the Daily Mirror's royal editor Russell Myers' upcoming book, titled William & Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, which will be released later this month, Catherine and William acknowledged Lilibet's birth by sending a card and gift to Meghan and Harry in the States despite their ongoing royal feud.

Extending an olive branch to Meghan and Harry, Mr Myers wrote: "William and Catherine sent a gift and a card of congratulations - although that would be the extent of their contact."

Catherine was previously asked about Lilibet during an engagement just days after her birth.

In a TikTok posted by CBS News back in June 2021, Catherine was asked if she had met Lilibet – and if she had one wish for her.

She said: "I wish her all the very best. I can't wait to meet her, because we haven't yet... met her yet, so hopefully that will be soon."

She was then asked if she had met Lilibet via a video call, to which she replied: "No, I haven't. No."

Back in June 2024, Meghan and Harry marked Lilibet's third birthday with a party at their home in Montectio.

With guests such as Katy Perry and her daughter Daisy reportedly in attendance, no members of the Royal Family are thought to have been invited.

Speaking to the Mirror at the time, royal author Tom Quinn said: "Shockingly no invitations to Lilibet's party were issued to members of the Royal Family".
