Producer on Meghan Markle's bombshell Oprah interview reveals what she's really like
The Duchess of Sussex sat down with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 for the bombshell interview.

In 2021, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sat down for a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, which saw them address their experience first-hand as working royals - a year after quitting as senior royals. In the interview, which sent shockwaves around the world, the couple criticised the Firm and made many bombshell claims which are still a frequent discussion among royal fans today.
While the interview divided opinion, with many royal fans quick to criticise Meghan, the executive producer behind the interview - Terry Wood - has now shared her insight into what The Duchess of Sussex is really like. Terry Wood, the former executive vice president at Harpo Productions, Ms Winfrey’s production company, was one of the people involved in Meghan’s latest Harper's BAZAAR interview piece.
Speaking in an interview for the article, Wood said: “Meghan understands her voice better than you, better than any producer could put it out there."

She continued: “"She knows how she comes across, and she knows how she wants to connect.
"She understands that so much has been written about her that when she does something, she wants to break through that noise so people see that she is authentically trying to be herself."
Talking about Meghan’s business ventures this year, Wood said: "Not everyone who starts a business is under the microscope that she’s under.
"What she is learning to weather and ride out is the judgement that happens as a businesswoman when you are that famous."

Meghan’s interview with Oprah came just over a year before Meghan and Harry then appeared on TV screens again criticising the Firm.
This is because in 2022, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched their Netflix docuseries “Harry and Meghan”, which documented their life as working royals and their lives afterwards in California.
The couple have refrained from making any further comments on the Royal Family over the last few years.
