Prince William and Prince Harry have been at odds for several years, and it appears a war of words has erupted between the brothers. While it may represent a step in the right direction that they are communicating, even if it is through mutual friends, tensions remain palpable.

Harry was recently in the UK and had the opportunity to spend time with his father, King Charles, which reportedly irritated William. However, matters didn't end there, as Harry publicly voiced concern over his children not knowing their cousins - William's three children - which did not sit well with the future king.

According to sources, William was so furious that Harry would speak about his children that he issued a warning, reportedly stating, "There will be consequences."

When your brother is heir to the throne, there is no telling what he may have in mind.

According to News24 Australia's Lifestyle Reporter Chloe Walker, the Sussexes are living on borrowed time, and when William ascends to the throne, it will be over for them.

"Prince William will be ruthless to the Sussexes when he takes the throne," said Walker.

Those are certainly strong words, and while they didn't come directly from William, they are equally alarming.

Walker didn't elaborate on what she meant by this, but there is speculation surrounding the Sussexes establishing a rival court in the UK.

By all accounts, it appears Harry and Meghan will struggle to build their mini monarchy if William has anything to say about it.

Ironically, blocking them could earn him the title "William the Conqueror," which is probably not the image he is aiming for.

What has sparked this new feud, which has reached an entirely new level, is that the children continue to be drawn into the dispute, and this is far from an isolated incident — it has been ongoing for weeks.

According to royal commentators, it could persist for years, with the children bearing the burden of their parents' grievances.

While King Charles enjoys the final days of summer at Balmoral, which sounds utterly idyllic, the brothers remain locked in battle, potentially leaving the future of the monarchy in a precarious position.
