With Love, Meghan (Season 2): Official trailer

A royal expert believes the new Netflix deal signed by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is a "slap in the face" compared to their original contract signed in 2020. The Sussexes signed a new "multi-year, first look" for upcoming film and television projects with the streaming giant.

This arrangement means Netflix can approve or not use any new film or television projects before anyone else - allowing them to pick and choose what they invest in. Daily Mail diary editor, Richard Eden said: "It's definitely a slap in the face. Let's deal with the facts. Harry himself in his interview with Oprah Winfrey talked about how he needed money and he needed it quickly because security and money had been cut off from his father."

When the couple quit as working royals, they signed a five-year deal in September 2020 to make documentaries and films for the American streaming giant thought to have been worth up to $100million (£75million).

Speaking of the new deal announced earlier this week, Mr Eden claimed: "This is none of a kind from everything I have heard. It is just a first look deal so the only money they will receive is if the programmes are commissioned."

During the couple's interview with Oprah after leaving the Firm, Harry talked about working with Netflix for monetary means, as reported in the Daily Mail. "During COVID, the suggestion by a friend was, 'What about streamers?'' Harry said, while Meghan added: "We genuinely hadn't thought about it before."

"We hadn't thought about it," Harry continued. "So, there were all sorts of different options. And look, from my perspective, all I needed was enough money to be able to pay for security to keep my family safe."

Royal dilemma as both William and Harry considered as godfathers

Hugh Grosvenor, Duke of Westminster, is weighing up whether to ask both Prince William and Prince Harry to be godfathers to his newborn daughter.

The duke, who is King Charles's godson and godfather to Prince George and Prince Archie, is questioning whether returning the favour by naming both as godparents would be a good idea given their fractured relationship, according to The Times.

Sources said William had already been asked to fill the role, but the decision about Harry has not yet been made. It comes after Harry decided against attending Grosvenor's wedding last June despite reportedly receiving a 'save the date'. William served as an usher at the extravagant Chester Cathedral ceremony.

Speaking at the time, a friend of the brothers said: "It's incredibly sad it has come to this. Hugh is one of the very few close friends of William and Harry's who has maintained strong bonds and a line of communication with both.

"He wishes they could put their heads together and patch things up."

Only one way for the rift between Harry and William to be mended, expert says

The well-documented falling-out between Prince William and Prince Harry is deeply entrenched behind the scenes, royal author Robert Lacey says.

Mr Lacey told People: "The rift is very profound and very long-lasting. It will not be changed, in my opinion, until Harry makes a move and apologises."

Historian Amanda Foreman also told the magazine: "Everyone wants it to happen on their terms, but that's what makes it impossible."

However, she suggested that despite not being on speaking terms, the brothers were on the same page in their approaches to parenting - committed to giving their children "authentic" childhoods, something she said was "pure Diana".

"The values they are instilling and discussing as families may be their best success," Foreman said. "They are both very good role models as parents."

Princess Diana left William and Harry 'important warnings before her death'

Princess Diana's sons could benefit from "studying" their mother's life, her former private secretary has said.

Patrick Jephson, who is also the author of the biography Shadows of a Princess, told People Magazine that Diana left Prince William and Prince Harry "a few important warnings to heed" before her untimely death in 1997.

"If they study Princess Diana's life carefully, and I hope they often do, William, Harry and their advisors will know that she left them many good examples to follow and also a few important warnings to heed," Mr Jephson said.

"Public affection and the rich rewards of royalty must be earned with self sacrifice and service," he added.

"I'm sure they are grateful every day that she can still guide, comfort and inspire them along the difficult path they were born to follow."

Over the last decade, William and Harry's relationship has grown increasingly strained - exacerbated by Harry's decision to step back from his royal duties and move to the US, before penning an explosive autobiography about his childhood and family.

While the brothers are not thought to be on speaking terms, Harry could begin mending ties with King Charles during a planned visit next month - potentially opening the door for a larger reunion. Harry has also been vocal about his desire to reconcile with the royal family, especially in light of his father's cancer diagnosis and ongoing treatment.

Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice praised for 'doing nothing wrong' amid Andrew chaos

Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice have been praised by a royal commentator for "doing nothing wrong" as scandal continues to dog their father, Prince Andrew.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said she sympathised with the York sisters amid the seemingly never-ending media storm surrounding Andrew - most recently linked to a bombshell new book also chronicling the rise and fall of Beatrice and Eugenie's mother, Sarah Ferguson.

"For his two daughters, this latest slew of lurid allegations must be hard to take," Ms Bond told The Mirror. "They have done nothing wrong and are popular with the rest of the family - and with much of the public."

William and Kate's new 'forever home' in Grade-II listed royal lodge

The Prince and Princess of Wales will move to the eight-bedroom Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park later this year, Kensington Palace has confirmed.

The Grade-II listed property, which is thought to be over 300 years old, includes elaborate plaster cornices and a half-barrel vaulted hallway ceiling.

According to The Sun, the royal couple are paying for the property and renovations themselves. The lodge underwent £1.5 million restoration works in 2001 and was put on the rental market for £15,000 a month. Its freehold is owned by the King.

Prince Archie's lockdown obsession inspired Harry and Meghan's new project

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's upcoming Netflix project was inspired by Prince Archie's lockdown dance obsession, it has emerged.

The couple's production company, Archewell is working on Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within - a documentary following a Ugandan charity that seeks to give orphaned children a home and sense of belonging.

The doc will follow a group of orphans who became online sensations after their dance routines went viral on social media.

"They would watch the videos regularly with Archie at home," a spokesperson for the couple told The Telegraph. "So, they were already admirers of the organisation before the film project came to them in 2023."

The Sussex's spokesperson also said their involvement in the project, for which they recruited Emmy-winning producer Geeta Gandbhir, was about "helping amplify their stories and help spread their love and joy even further across the globe".

Fight between Prince Harry and Prince Andrew will remain in book despite backlash

Disputed claims that Prince Andrew and Prince Harry were involved in a physical altercation that left the former with a bloody nose will remain in a new biography, its author has confirmed.

The Duke of Sussex insisted that the incident had never happened after the book began being serialised in the Daily Mail - and his lawyers sent legal letters to both the newspaper and publisher William Collins. A passage alleging that Andrew told his nephew Meghan Markle was an "opportunist" and that the marriage wouldn't last was also denied by the prince's team.

But Andrew Lownie, author of Entitled, which focuses on Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, told an upcoming episode of Newsweek's The Royal Report podcast that it wouldn't be removed from the published text.

"Harry wasn't in my book at all," the royal expert and historian said. "And I think when the book came in, the publisher said, maybe just out of interest, 'What was the relationship between Andrew and Harry?'

"So I went to my source and they gave me that little paragraph talking about the altercations in 2013 and then over Meghan in 2017. I didn't think any of us thought that it was anything but a sort of passing moment."

"I had to double down with my source and make sure it was accurate, which we believe it is," he added.

"Collins have responded in a responsible way, they've added a line actually, and I recorded the line for the audiobook a couple of days ago, just saying that Harry denies these allegations.

"And I hope that will be the end of it. I mean, I don't think it's defamatory. I think it actually presents him in quite a positive light, and certainly, there was no desire to cause offence. It was just a sort of reflection."

Meghan Markle faces backlash for 'childlike' photo

Meghan Markle has attracted backlash after sharing a photo of biscuits made with her shortbread cookie mix, one of the products available to buy on the As Ever website.

The Duchess posted the glimpse into the brand's kitchen on its official account - but the baked goods, iced and sprinkled with flowers, have been ridiculed by social media users as "ridiculous" and "childlike".

"That looks like five-year-olds decorating cookies," on person wrote on X. Another asked: "Does she really look at this and think it is creative? It looks like a mess."

Meghan's shortbread cookie mix with flower sprinkles went on sale alongside a range of other products in April for £10.64 ($14).

Harry and Meghan 'split' over future roles, expert says

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new multi-year deal with Netflix offers a revealing glimpse into their respective futures, a royal expert has claimed.

The couple initially signed a lucrative $100 million deal with the streamer after stepping back from their royal duties in 2020, but their latest agreement is believed to be a downgrade, giving Netflix the first option on new projects at a much lower cost.

The announcement of the new deal coincided with Meghan releasing the trailer for series two of her cooking show - leading former BBC correspondent Jennie Bond to assume the agreement is "very much Meghan's project".

She told The Mirror: "It seems [Harry] may have played some part in the production of a documentary about a Ugandan orphanage, but it is Meghan who will be on-screen presenting her lifestyle shows.

"I think this underlines that the couple has decided that Meghan is really the TV personality, and Harry is more comfortable continuing his charity work. And I think that's the right balance for them."

The telling moment Meghan Markle 'quietly took control' laid bare by body language expert

Back in June 2018, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry undertook a two-day visit to Dublin, shortly after their royal wedding at St George's Chapel, and there were telling signs of her personality during the engagement, claims a body language expert.

During their visit, they signed the visitor's book at the Government Buildings in Dublin with the then Taoiseach Leo Varadkar. Body language expert Judi James told the Daily Mail: "Meghan and Harry's first overseas visit soon after their wedding was a relatively 'soft' one, but this trip still provided a clear showcase for their body language dynamic as a royal couple."

TV star reveals 'awkward moment' with late Queen that left him 'red-faced'

Although the royal wedding day of Prince William and Princess Kate in 2011 went without a hitch, there were a few tense moments behind the scenes, as described by TV presenter, Ben Fogle, who was a guest at the wedding. He has admitted he was left red-faced when his wife Marina accidentally clashed with Queen Elizabeth II's grand arrival.

Writing in his Telegraph column, Ben reminisced about the big day: "We had been asked to arrive at Westminster Abbey early – two hours, I recall. So early that Marina needed a pregnancy-induced wee just before the bride and groom arrived. My sisters in law seized the opportunity to join her in a not insignificant dash across the Abbey, getting caught in the aisle just as the Queen arrived."

Prince Harry's friend claims Brits are 'not classy enough' to enjoy Meghan's Netflix show

As Netflix prepares to stream season two of 'With Love, Meghan' this month, an old friend of Prince Harry's has explained his reason why British people have failed to enjoy the first series. This comes as Harry and Meghan have signed a new deal with the streaming giant for a "first-look" deal on any future TV shows and projects.

As reported in the Daily Mail, Alex Rayner, who went to the North Pole with Harry on a charity trek in 2012, said the British were "too cynical" to enjoy the glossy series filmed in Montecito. He said: "I'd argue it's made for the American market, maybe a little bit more than for us." He added: "We're a little bit more cynical. For us, we're about old Mrs Miggins over the Aga doing her marmalade. Whereas, in America, they're a little bit more classy about it. They want a bit more."

Prince Andrew and Harry 'should stand as warning' to William over 'difficult' family issue

Prince William and Princess Kate have been warned that Prince Andrew and Prince Harry "should stand as a warning" for how they should parent their own three children, a royal commentator said.

The heir to the throne and his wife share three children - Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old Prince Louis. George is destined to follow in his father's footsteps when he takes the UK throne.

But royal experts at the Daily Mail said William and Kate are ensuring his younger siblings don't follow the paths trodden by Andrew and Harry in being problematic 'spares'.

The paper's Diary Editor told the Palace Confidential podcast: "I think Andrew and Harry should both stand as a warning to Prince William and Catherine that how you treat that 'spare' is very difficult..."

Prince William and Princess Kate show their true colours with move to new 8-bedroom home

Prince William, Princess Kate, and their three children will reportedly move to a new "forever home" in Windsor by the end of the year, an insider has said, where they will remain even after William becomes King. In a move showing the couple's true colours, they are paying for the move to the new home themselves and rent at no extra cost to the taxpayer, it is also understood.

Unlike Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who spent £2.4million of taxpayers’ money on their home Frogmore Cottage, William and Kate are funding all renovations themselves and will have no live-in staff. The Sussexes, however, later paid back the money before being evicted by King Charles. The Wales family are reportedly set to move to the eight-bedroom Forest Lodge home in Windsor Great Park. A source said the family is hoping for a "fresh start" at the home, which is larger than Adelaide Cottage where they currently live.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle urged to do key thing to avoid flops and win public back

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were advised to follow one key rule if they want to avoid any future flops due to their plummeting popularity. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have branched out into various business ventures since their sensational departure from the Royal Family in 2020.

Some of their projects include Netflix shows, books, podcasting and most recently, Meghan's lifestyle brand, As Ever. At the same time, Harry and Meghan's popularity took a nose dive, with recent polling from YouGov listing them as the least favourite royals after Prince Andrew.

Now, a PR expert has offered her own take on what the Sussex couple should do for their project to resonate with the British public.

Two royals King Charles could send to Prince Harry’s UK event to represent him - expert

Prince Harry will be bringing the Invictus Games to Birmingham in 2027, with the event set to be special for many reasons. While the competition, like many in the years gone by, will be a chance for ex wounded servicemen and women to get together and enjoy support - something Harry wanted when he founded the Invictus charity in 2014 - it may also pose a chance of royal reconciliation face to face.

This is because it was previously reported this year that members of the Royal Family could be invited to the event, which will be held from July 10-17, 2027. A source told The Mail on Sunday that Harry "agreed" that his family should be invited, calling the gesture an “olive branch”

Prince Harry blocked from getting tattoo in unusual place

While holidaying in Las Vegas in 2012 with his friends, Prince Harry was once talked out of getting a tattoo, as depicted in his bombshell memoir, Spare. Prince Harry has recalled the raucous trip and his desire to do something to remember it. In Spare, which was released in January 2023, Harry explained how he wanted to ink something of importance to him.

Prince Harry wrote: "I need something to commemorate this trip, I decided. Something to symbolize my sense of freedom, my sense of carpe diem. For instance…a tattoo? Yes! Just the thing! Maybe on my shoulder? No, too visible. Lower back? No, too…racy. Maybe my foot? Yes. The sole of my foot!"
