Meghan Markle was criticised for trying to fit in with the lifestyle circle with her latest move as one expert says it will take time.
Meghan Markle teases new Netflix show in trailer
Meghan Markle has been criticised for trying to "fit in somehow by playing a very dated housewifey role" with her new Netflix show, in a move which was dubbed "odd and disempowering" by a royal commentator.
The Duchess of Sussex stars in a new lifestyle series on Netflix titled With Love, Meghan, which is to be released on March 4.
Meghan's show was originally due to air last Wednesday, but its release got postponed due to the devastating fires in Los Angeles.
With Love, Meghan, which is the Sussexes' fourth project for Netflix, will celebrate the "joys of cooking and friendship" and see the duchess share cooking, gardening and other tips and tricks with her friends. The show's trailer has gone viral on social media and shows Prince Harry's wife in a lavish kitchen at a Montecito mansion - not far from her own home - prepare dishes for her guests.
But royal broadcaster Helena Chard has warned it will take a long time for Meghan to be welcomed into the lifestyle circle.

She told Fox News: "Meghan's team have helped her put a huge amount of positive marketing and branding spin into her Netflix series.
"In time she may make a success within the lifestyle place. However, this will take a long time as Meghan’s character does not fit this sickly-sweet picture."
Ms Chard said the show feels, "inauthentic," adding: "Like she is trying to fit in somehow by playing a very dated housewifey role… very odd and disempowering.
"She has spoken ill and ditched the majority of her family and friends, and this certainly doesn't conjure a picture of love and joy."
The duchess released a statement earlier this week about her show's delay.

She said: "I'm thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California."
Meanwhile, despite the motives behind the delay being questioned by some royal watchers, an industry insider claimed it was an "easy decision" for Meghan, who has "genuine concern" for her hometown and those affected.
They told People: "Delaying the release of With Love, Meghan was likely an easy decision for her.
"I don’t think she could imagine putting out a show centred on joy and hosting when so many people in her home state no longer have homes to host people in.
"I think it’s sad that critics are saying she’s only doing this to avoid the fires overshadowing her show. We’re all human, and we’re dealing with a catastrophe."
