Prince Andrew is said to be relieved that the new Amazon series 'A Very Royal Scandal' has "sunk without trace" following its release earlier this week.

The drama was released on September 19, a three-part series about his disastrous 2019 Newsnight interview.

Aside from Prince Andrew's friends comment about his feelings, friends of King Charles III reportedly say that the series is "water off a duck's back" to the 75-year-old monarch.

According to an article by The Daily Beast, the series portrays Andrew as a foul-mouthed, entitled and arrogant man - a representation that some former staff have told media outlets is accurate.

Speaking to the publication, friends of the Duke of York said: "It’s a great relief that this new show appears to have sunk without trace. He felt he came out of the first film rather well.

"It seemed hard to believe there would be any appetite for another go-round and that looks to be the case."

They added: "The friend, who said Andrew had not watched the new series, said Andrew is now focused on “getting on with his own life and hopes these endless attacks on him will stop."

Speaking of the new series, which follows Netflix's Scoop based on the same interview, a review by The Telegraph noted it as a production that "definitely feels like one too many".

Scoop, which was released earlier this year, was based on a memoir written by the producer of the interview.

Speaking of the new series, a friend of King Charles said: "People writing films and books about His Majesty and his family is something he is well used to.

"He won’t have watched it. It’s water off a duck’s back to him."

Also commenting on Royal Lodge, the source claims that Andrew has no intention in moving out.

Andrew is known to have signed a 75-year lease on the 30-room property in the early 2000s. This is despite the King's apparent request and attempts for him to do so.
