Meghan Markle will no doubt be tucking into a special birthday breakfast over in Montecito this morning.

In a video shared on X some years ago, Meghan discussed how she indulges in her favourite salty treat on August 4 every year.

In it, Meghan is seen chatting with a chef about her birthday preference, stating: "For my birthday, since I don't have a sweet tooth, I always have French fries for breakfast with a little candle."

Prince William has a close-knit circle of friends, many of whom he has known since school or university.

Some of them have also been connected to the Royal Family for generations.

Prince Harry was once close to them too, but William will have been grateful for their support throughout his and Harry's rift.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spent £2.4 million renovating Frogmore Cottage when they were still working royals, meaning the money came out of the Sovereign Grant.

Today (August 4) is Meghan Markle's 43rd birthday, but it is also a day of great significance for Prince William.

His christening was celebrated 42 years ago today, August 4 1982, at the Music Room in Buckingham Palace, with the service being carried out by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

He was christened Prince William Arthur Philip Louis, with his mother Princess Diana just 21 at the time.

Meghan Markle previously wrote on her now-defunct blog The Tig that she makes a birthday wish every year.

One year she made an unusual request however, as she asked her followers to use her birthday as an opportunity to find their own happiness.

As reported by the Mirror, she wrote in 2014: "I am 33 years old today. And I am happy. And I say that so plainly because, well… it takes time.

"So for my birthday, here’s what I would like as a gift: I want you to be kind to yourself. I want you to challenge yourself. I want you to stop gossiping, to try a food that scares you, to buy a coffee for someone just because, to tell someone you love them… and then to tell yourself right back.
