Prince Harry's offer to return 'met with swift and brutal response'
In recent weeks Prince Harry has expressed a desire to return to royal duties following King Charles' cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
Prince Harry discusses future plans to visit royal family
Prince Harry’s offer to return to royal duties was met with a swift and brutal response, according to a royal expert.
Writing in the Daily Mail's Palace Confidential newsletter royal expert Richard Eden said that while there was a desire to improve relations between Prince Harry and King Charles, this might not extend to a return to royal duties.
Mr Eden explained that while Prince Harry told friends he would be willing to return to royal duties to help the Royal Family the response from sources in the UK was "swift and brutal".
Mr Eden added: "What I hear is that, while the King is keen to mend fences with his younger son, Prince William is adamant that the Royal Household should stick with the Sandringham summit agreement with Queen Elizabeth of 2020."
Prince Harry’s willingness to return to a royal role comes just weeks after King Charles was diagnosed with cancer following treatment for an enlarged prostate. Soon after his diagnosis, Prince Harry flew from the USA to see the King before his cancer treatment began.

King Charles puts plans for succession in place but Prince Harry left out in the cold
Royal author Tom Quinn has said that King Charles is making plans for her succession, which do not involve Prince Harry.
He told the Mirror that Prince William is "at the heart of the succession planning", but "no one trusts Harry" due to his revelations about the Firm in his memoir Spare.
"Officials had assumed Charles would remain healthy at least into his mid-eighties before succession planning would need to begin but in fact it has now begun and indicates perhaps that Charles’s cancer is more dangerous than we have been led to believe.
"Succession planning is highly secret and no one trusts Harry to be part of it for the simple reason that if he feels in any way slighted or not given what he feels he deserves he will run straight to the media.
Prince Harry and Meghan 'have everything in place now' with new changes likely to emerge

Speaking on Hello! Magazine’s podcast, titled 'A Right Royal Podcast', magazine royal editor, Emily Nash explained how things may pan out for the couple over the next few months on their website.
She said: "The way it was described to me is that it's a kind of one-stop-shop for their various different pillars of work, so it encompasses Archwell productions, their media production company, it encompasses Archwell Foundation, their charitable foundation, but it's also going to be a platform for other updates.
"And I think this is really interesting because it is a bit of a signal that they are about to start doing more different things."

Princess Kate's 'success' in the Royal Family explained by key factor
Princess Kate is one of the most popular members of the Royal Family, with one royal expert giving a key reason as to how she has coped so well with life in the Firm.
Former royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! magazine: "One reason Kate has made such a success of her royal role is because she has a strong inner circle – and it extends way beyond her parents and siblings.
"Carole and Pippa have obviously been on hand during Kate's recovery, I'm sure Carole must have been very worried about her daughter and has probably been clucking around like a mother hen.
"But sometimes, your oldest friends – who've been with you through thick and thin – are just the ticket. Kate has maintained deep friendships with several of her schoolmates, who obviously knew her way before royalty came her way, so they'll know just how to help."

"It's not always sweetness and light."
Prince William's 'strategic move' laid bare as he seeks to make major shift to monarchy
EXCLUSIVE: Prince William's recent statement on the conflict between Israel and Gaza has been praised from a PR standpoint by an expert.
Renae Smith told Express.co.uk: "The statement could be seen as a strategic move, reflecting a broader shift within the monarchy towards a more open and perhaps slightly more opinionated stance on global issues.
"This shift is subtly underscored by King Charles III's historical tendency to be more vocal about his views compared to his predecessors."
Duchess Sophie and Prince Edward enjoy rare joint visit after shock claims about daughter
Duchess Sophie and Prince Edward have been pictured at the British Cycling National Track Championships today in Manchester as questions remain over their children's futures in the Royal Family.
Lady Louise and her younger brother James Earl of Wessex, are not yet working royals due to their young age and education status, with one royal expert believing they never will be.
Jennie Bond told OK! magazine: "It’s clear that for the next 15 years or so (depending on when Prince George decides to take up, full-time royal duties), the working royals are going to become extremely thin on the ground.
"But I’m doubtful that Lady Louise would ever become a full-time working royal, partly because I’m not sure she would want to, and also because the King and William know only too well that the monarchy has to be increasingly accountable to the taxpayer."

King Charles's blunt four-word response after plea for Prince Harry return
King Charles once let royal fans catch a glimpse of his affection for his younger son, Prince Harry.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been estranged from the Firm since they quit their duties in 2020.
King Charles, who at the time was still the Prince of Wales, took part in the negotiation of their exit terms during a high-profile meeting held in Sandringham more than four years ago.
Publicly, however, he has mostly concealed how he feels about his second son's departure from the Firm and the country.
But during an engagement he carried out in February last year at the University of East London's Stratford campus, the King let slip of his feelings as he exchanged greetings and shook hands with many students lined up to see him.

Prince Harry's 'rank hypocrisy' laid bare by royal expert after 'desperate' move
Prince Harry has been accused of “rank hypocrisy” as well as making “desperate” moves by a royal expert.
Panellists on the Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential were discussing the Duke of Sussex's potential comeback to the Royal Family reportedly being axed by the Firm.
Richard Eden, Daily Mail Diary editor, said Prince Harry was a "hypocrite" for gushing about his love for his family after bashing them for a year.
Lady Louise Windsor will 'never be' a working royal as Firm fear 'public backlash'
The Royal Family and their 'slimmed-down' state have been at the centre of discussions recently after the latest health woes involving King Charles and the Princess of Wales which forced them to take a step back from their royal duties and leave the rest of the engagements to only a handful of members of the Firm.
Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie's daughter is quite a popular member of the Firm and her name frequently popped up in fan discussions over who could step up to help the monarch.
The 20-year-old is currently studying at university in Scotland.
But a royal expert has come out and said that, despite her popularity, it is highly unlikely that Lady Louise will end up as a working royal after her studies - at least during the reigns of King Charles and Prince William.
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet 'could still retain titles' if Prince Harry gave his up
EXCLUSIVE: Prince Archie Harrison and Princess Lilibet Diana "could still retain their titles" and their position in the order of succession even if Prince Harry renounced his position, according to a US-based family lawyer.
The Duke of Sussex sparked speculation about the future of his titles after admitting last week he had "considered" becoming a US citizen like all other members of his household.
Meghan Markle retained her US passport after their marriage in 2018 and the couple's two children have been entitled to American citizenship since birth.
But while Harry would be forced to renounce his titles if he applied to be a US citizen, lawyer Alphonse Provinziano suggested that wouldn't be the case for Archie and Lilibet.
Prince Harry 'very bored' in California and 'misses being a working royal' in the UK
Prince Harry is reportedly feeling "very bored" in California and is considering a temporary move back to the UK, according to a royal expert.
Author Tom Quinn told The Mirror that the Duke of Sussex misses his duties as a working Royal and believes he can "retain his value" by returning to the UK at some point.
This comes amidst rumours that Harry had thought about assisting the Royal Family during the King's illness - however, sources in the palace have dismissed any chance of his return.
Quinn said: "Harry does miss being a working royal being a royal is the only thing he is trained to do and he is getting very bored in California. He knows that to retain his value and the interest of the world he is better off not being a retired royal so offering to come back to help out at least reminds the world who and what he is."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 'losing sleep' over imminent US visa court case

Harry’s US Visa is to be addressed, as to whether or not he was truthful during the application process.
There’s a section that asks about drug use, even if in the past, and the applicant is expected to check either “yes” or “no."
The conservative think-tank, The Heritage Foundation, is demanding Harry’s application be made public, to reveal his answers, because of his self-proclaimed drug use, which he wrote about in his 2023 memoir Spare.
Daily Express US reached out to royal expert Tom Quinn, who said: “Harry could be in big trouble with this Visa issue.”
Prince Harry's 'attitude' to King Charles during recent meeting left Camilla 'outraged'

Speaking to the National Enquirer via RadarOnline, they said: "I'm told Camilla was outraged. She's taken a lot of bile from Harry for years and couldn’t wait to let him have it.
"Camilla has taken it all on the chin, but using her husband's cancer as a 'loving son' PR stunt was the last straw.
"After the father-son reunion, I hear she told Harry he's a disgrace to his father, the family and the monarchy - and she left no doubt he isn't wanted back!"
