The Prime Minister hinted that she will deliver a ‘hard Brexit’ – with no compromise on border controls.
She said: “Let me be clear – we are not leaving the European Union only to give up control of immigration again.
“We will do what independent sovereign countries do – we will decide for ourselves how we control immigration and we will be free to pass our own laws.”
Mrs May also announced the Great Repeal Bill – an Act of Parliament that will overturn the supremacy of EU law in Britain.

Conservative MPs will pick up the previous day’s discussion in the opening talk of day four.A Country That Works For Everyone
The Prime Minister will take to the stage again on Wednesday October 5 at around 12pm to deliver a speech dubbed A Country That Works For Everyone.
Mrs May will close the conference with her agenda for "a country that works for everyone" – a topic she first touched upon in her maiden speech as PM.
Ruth Davidson will appear on the closing day of the conference
She will likely delve into her controversial grammar school plans and update party members on her landmark audit to tackle inequality.
The wide-ranging probe is due to be published next year and will form the basis of new policies to target racial disparity in education, the criminal justice system and the NHS.
Preceding her onstage will be Baroness Evans, Leader of the House of Lords, and Ruth Davidson, Scottish Leader of the Conservative Party.
Ms Davidson, who backed the Remain campaign, is expected to slam Nicola Sturgeon’s attempts to block Brexit and take Scotland out of the UK.
