Just Stop Oil are ramping up plans to wreak havoc across the UK in the coming weeks.

In recent months, the environmental activist group has relied on several one-off protests, with far fewer mass disruption events. Last month, two elderly protesters made the headlines after trying to smash the glass case holding the historic Manga Carta.

However, the environmental group's tactics are set to return to mass disruption ahead of the general election on July 4.

More than 3,000 activists have been trained and are ready to unleash chaos across the UK's busiest roads, bridges, and airports, according to GB News.

The leaders of the climate group want to deploy thousands of eco-warriors at the same time to cause maximum disruption. They aim to force police officers to make thousands of arrests and “overwhelm” the country’s already straining judicial system.

Police forces across the UK, and particularly in London, are already struggling to cope with the weekly pro-Palestine protests. The Met Police claimed that the Palestine protests had cost them £32.2million in policing resources as of March this year. Three police officers were injured and 40 people were arrested during a pro-Palestine protest in Westminster, central London, on Tuesday night this week.

The first Just Stop Oil protest is expected to take place tomorrow (Saturday), with activists gathering close to Waterloo Bridge and Westminster Bridge in the capital.

The climate protesters are keen to pile pressure on Sir Keir Starmer's Labour Party, ahead of his expected victory when Britons go to the polls in July.

The group and other environmental campaigners have slammed the left-wing party for failing to promise to revoke new oil and gas licenses granted by the Conservative Government if he becomes the next Prime Minister.

In August last year, Sir Keir said that Just Stop Oil protesters are "contemptible". He said the country will need to exploit existing North Sea oil and gas sites “for decades to come". He suggested turning “off the taps in the North Sea” would create “chaos for working people”.

Earlier this week, Ed Miliband, Labour's shadow minister for energy security and net zero, blasted Just Stop Oil for “alienating people” from its cause. He said: “When you block a motorway of people who are trying to get to their relatives who are dying that isn’t helping your cause. I don’t question your motivation but I massively question your tactics.”

The eco-protesters are also plotting mass disruption at Britain's airports. They plan to glue themselves to runways in the UK, including at Heathrow and Gatwick, leading to travel chaos for those going abroad this summer

Just Stop Oil’s Phoebe Plummer reportedly warned of “disruption on a scale that has never been seen before” during one recent meeting, according to the Evening Standard

One aviation source told GB News: “This will be an absolute nightmare for the aviation industry. The disruption caused will not just severely impact people’s holiday and travel plans but will cost airlines and airports many millions of pounds in lost revenue.

“But the most worrying aspect of this direct action is the decision by these activists to break through perimeter fences or access airside doors to move onto the airport runways. By their very nature, the airside environment of any busy airport is highly active and extremely dangerous with constant aircraft movements around the airfield.

“Whatever their motivation, this direct action is deeply misguided as these activists will not only be putting themselves at risk but also members of the travelling public and airport staff.”
