Google slashes Google Home and Google Home Mini price as it takes aim at the Amazon Echo
THE Google Home and Google Home Mini have both been slashed in price and here's how to get the deal on these Echo rivals.
Google has just announced that it has slashed the price of its Google Home and Google Home Mini smart speakers.
Both of these devices use voice search and Google's clever Assistant to perform a huge range of tasks including playing music, answering questions and connecting to smart home gadgets such as lights and heating.
They can even look after your daily diary and order your weekly takeaway.
The more powerful Google Home usually costs £129 but Google is currently offering £25 off that price, reducing it to £104.
The smaller Google Home Mini would normally set you back £49 but this has now been reduced by £15 taking the cost down to £34.
The deal runs from today until July 17 with the Google Store, Argos and Currys all offering the discount.
In our Google Home review, we said: "Google Home is stellar first foray into the fast-growing smart speaker category.
"It’s not quite a home run, but it’s close.
"Nobody else comes close to the search prowess of the Google Assistant. And the Google Home is small and discrete enough to fit into almost any room in the house."
The deals come as smart speakers continue to take the world by storm.

Google and Amazon are both leading the pack and Apple has now joined the party with its HomePod device.
With Google cutting prices it certainly may give the cheaper Echo a run for its money but Amazon also its Prime Day sales approaching so expect plenty more price wars to come.
Prime Day begins on July 16 with deals going live for 36 hours.
Although Amazon hasn't revealed which products will be on sale it's highly likely that its Alexa-powered Echo and Echo Dot will be reduced in price.
