Millions offered free Amazon Prime for six months - here’s how to claim

Amazon Prime is a wildly popular subscription service from retailer Amazon that gives you free one day delivery on thousands of items, as well as access to the firm’s Prime Video streaming service, Amazon Music streaming, and access to Prime deals that you can’t get otherwise. That’s why it’s notable that Amazon is offering millions of Brits a lengthy six month free trial of Prime, which normally costs £8.99 per month.

This offer applies to any 18 to 22-year-old in the UK. If you’re lucky enough to be that young, you can click here to redeem your six month free Amazon Prime trial - that’s far longer than the usual one month free trial anyone else can get.

All you need to do is submit a picture of your driving licence or passport to get the free trial. Not only that, but Amazon is even offering 18 to 22-year-olds half price Prime when the six month trial ends, making the service half price. £4.49 per month rather than £8.99. You can also pay for 12 months upfront for 50 percent off at £47.49 instead of the usual £95.

The offer is also open to any student by submitting your university email address and expected year of graduation, or by supplying other forms of student ID.

With a free Prime subscription you’ll be set for Amazon Prime Day - which is actually two days - on the 16 and 17 July. We’re expecting 48 hours of savings, and you have to be a Prime member to access the best prices. Many tech products are discounted during the big sale - we’ve snapped up cut price items in the past for ourselves such as a Nintendo Switch and Sonos speaker.

Amazon Prime Video is also included with a Prime subscription, and has shows and films to easily match what’s on offer from Netflix and Disney+. Given Prime also includes loads of other benefits, it’s the best value streaming service to go for compared to its two main competitors.

You’ll also get free delivery from Deliveroo, access to online games, access to eBooks, and an offer to grab two cinema tickets per month for £10 with Odeon.

This offer from Amazon is ongoing, and will last from the moment you turn 18 to the second you turn 23. Six months of Amazon Prime for free and then four and a half years at half price is a solid deal.
