Three network down as UK mobile operator confirms massive outage
The Three UK mobile network is experiencing issues leaving customers without service
UK mobile operator Three has confirmed it is experiencing network issues, which appear to have left thousands of frustated customers without phone coverage. The problems come not long after the network had major outage issues in December, with some customers reporting they have had patchy service from the phone company for the past few days.
"Some customers may be experiencing issues with our network this morning," Three's official account posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday morning. "Our engineers are working hard to fix it."
But customers also took to the platform to complain about the lack of service, which Three itself said was affected on 10 February and claimed was fixed on 11 February, though recommended people restart their devices to reconnect to the network.
"This is the last straw for me. Cancelling the contract and not paing any cancellation fee whatsoever", said X user @3DomSculpts.
Before midday on Monday, outage website tracker Downdetector had a spike of more than 12,000 reports from the public about issues with the Three mobile network.
"This just makes me want to switch once my contracts over, it’s constant outages with Three", said @ItsbeccaG on X.

Three also told customers on the social site on Monday that the issue was "impacting customer service", and that the network was "sorry for the issues with service over the past few days and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused".
"How is it possible that every two weeks, you guys have issues with the network?" @CosWiSe said on X. "I have to buy a daily EE Wifi pass just to work from home."
UK mobile provider Smarty also confirmed it was experiencing widespread service issues on Monday, a result of the firm using Three's network to provide its customers with reception. Smarty posted a similar message to Three's on X.

Though reports were rife at 11:37am, by 12:37pm reports via Downdetector had dropped substantially, though by that time Three had still not confirmed service was back to normal.
