Social media platforms have announced they are experiencing issues today. Tens of thousands of users have taken to Down Detector to voice their concerns today. Each affected company has now announced it is in the process of trying to correct the issue.
When will Facebook be back up?
Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, all owned by Mark Zuckerberg's social media company, are currently down.
They have announced they are attempting to correct the issue via social media's last standing hub, Twitter.
But they did not reveal the root cause or likely duration of the issues.

In a statement, Facebook said: "We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products.
"We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience."
The apps have all released individual announcements detailing their response to the situation.
Writing via Twitter, Instagram Comms said: "Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now, and you may be having issues using them. Bear with us, we’re on it!"
The Facebook app said: "We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing Facebook app.
"We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience."
And WhatsApp, in a near-identical statement, thanked people for their patience as workers sought a solution.
Current reports suggest people are experience outages around the world.

Most users have taken the news well, however, and have made jokes on Twitter.
Comedian Rosie Jones wrote: "WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram are down so desperate times call for desperate measures. Guess I've got to do some work."
Even supermarket Aldi weighed in on the situation.
The chain's social media account evoked popular South Korean drama Squid Game in their response.
They said: "Looks like Facebook and Instagram were eliminated from Squid Game."
As did the account for card game UNO, which quipped: "You can play a game of UNO while Facebook and Instagram are down."
Some people aren't so tickled by the experience and have taken the opportunity to give their view on their impacts on society.
Several users have said society would improve with the social media giants out of the picture.
