Beatles: Rock Band
WHETHER you are a Guitar Hero geek, a family looking for new ways to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon, or a group of friends who love a bit of karaoke, this is the game for you.
The eagerly awaited Beatles Rock Band has been unveiled and hits the high street tomorrow.
At a sneak preview, Express.co.uk had the pleasure of strumming Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and rocking out to Come Together on a replica of Paul McCartney's trademark Hofner Violin Bass guitar.
We also trialled the world's first three-part harmonies feature to timeless Beatles classic Ticket to Ride.
The concept is straightforward. Gamers follow the John, Paul, George and Ringo's entire career through ‘Story Mode’ - moving chronologically through their history and song catalogue.
If you're in a hurry you can also select individual songs from the 45 track list - which includes most of the classics - through 'Quick Play' mode.
There are also few obscure tracks, such as Hey Bulldog, just to throw you - and many more Fab Four tracks will become available for download.
To top it off, if you manage to rock your way through the Fab Four's entire career, you can witness their infamous break-up first hand.
Up to six people can play at once, making this a super sociable gaming experience.
If you already own Rock Band/Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero, the game is adaptable to the existing handsets, but it may be worth getting your hands on John Lennon's Rickenbacker 325 guitar.
Pricing varies from £39.99 for the game only to £179.99 for the deluxe edition premium bundle with half-way prices for standalone guitar packages. The Beatles: Rock Band is available on XBox 360, PS3 and Wii.
VERDICT 5/5
