'My heated blanket has been a true Godsend in the cold' and now it's on sale

The recent freezing spell of weather has had households reaching for everything in their arsenal to stay warm without having to keep the heating on all day. That's why electric blankets are so popular this time of year. And Eve Rowlands, a senior shopping writer at Yorkshire Live, says she has found one that "surpasses all other blankets" she has tested.
The Lakeland heated throw, which Eve described as a "true Godsend during the colder months", is currently discounted by £15. Although it usually retails for £69.99, it's currently on sale for £54.99.
The blanket has nine heat levels, as well as nine timer settings, allowing you to set the blanket to heat for as long as you require before it automatically switches off. Eve says this has been a "blessing", as she tends to nod off within "minutes", so it gives her peace of mind to know it will switch itself off with the auto-shut-off function.
Eve continued: "The duration of the blanket's run time, and the control of it, is a standout feature that surpasses other blankets I've tested. This includes Silentnight's Luxury Heated Throw."

The Lakeland throw is also generously sized, measuring 160 x 120cm. This means it can easily cover a four-seater sofa and cover three people (plus a pet). Eve said: "My cat has developed a particular liking for the fleece side and only joins us when the heated throw is in use, adding another advantage to this blanket."
The blanket comes in a versatile cream colour that means it should blend easily into most interiors, and is double-sided with a soft and fluffy sherpa fleece lining on one side and a cable knit pattern on the other. "The fluffy side is my favourite," said Eve.
While the colour might deter some buyers, the machine-washable feature is a reassuring bonus that alleviates concerns about spills and stains – though Eve pointed out that swift action is crucial to prevent permanent marks.
But, for Eve, there was one small drawback. She said that while the internal wires threaded through the blanket do a great job of providing warmth, they are fairly noticeable underneath the material. She added: "They're not particularly intrusive as the thin wires move naturally with the blanket, stopping them from sticking out uncomfortably."
That said, this characteristic is fairly typical of electric blankets in general, as they require insulation for their wiring.
