Cleaning your sink is an easy way to make the whole kitchen look better.

It may seem counterintuitive, because you are constantly rinsing your sink when you turn on the faucet. But food and grime can build up, making your kitchen smell bad and look untidy.

You can use store-bought sprays or polishes to leave the sink looking clean, but there’s also a hack using something in your cabinets.

The Kitchn says using flour on your stainless steel sink will make it look spotless and shiny.

What you’ll need is flour, hot water and dish soap. Wash your sink thoroughly by scrubbing it with water and the soap.

Be sure the sink is completely dry with a clean towel. If it has any water droplets still in it, it’ll turn the flour into a messy goo. Wipe down the sides, bottom and top of the drain.

Once it’s dry, sprinkle flour into the sink. You should do a thick layer around the entire thing.

Using a paper towel or soft cloth, buff the flour in a circular motion. Be sure to get the drain, rim, handles, faucet, knobs and more.

Don't miss...

Wipe out any extra flour and throw it away. If there’s still little flecks of flour, you can rinse it down the drain; you just don’t want too much flour in your pipes.

The little grains of flour work like a super fine grit sandpaper, buffing away any scum or debris from your stainless steel.

You can use the hack every couple of weeks to make your sink shine.
