TOYS and games from years gone by usually end up in the charity shop, but if you held on to any of your classic favourites from the 1980s, they could be worth a small fortune now.

The 1980s was one of the biggest decades for children’s toys, with stores like Toys ‘R’ Us and Argos selling millions of the nation’s favourites.
Choosing what to ask for at Christmas was a yearly ritual for British children who then hoped Santa would deliver their wished-for toy.

A rare toy as production stopped on these early on. This was because of a large number of complaints being filed thanks to the low-quality toy breaking easily. Worth approximately £115.

Janine Melnitz’s acton figure is worth more than Egon and Venkman put together despite her small part in the series as the figure is so rare. Enthusiasts can expect to pay £1000 or more for all four boxed figures.

Despite He-man being a classic 80s character, the toy did not sell well as children found it bland and boring. As such, production was stopped and the figure was pulled from the shelves, adding to its rarity. A boxed Savage He-man sells for around £80 now.

Part of the Thundercats flying range, this brightly coloured toy now fetches around £350.

This teddy wasn’t just a stuffed animal, as you could insert a cassette tape into it, and it would then read stories and sing songs. It sells for around £400 boxed.
Nintendo NES
Nintendo continues to be popular today, and the boxed NES feared up to £1000 online. But this is partly because there are so few that weren’t opened.
