Benidorm is a haven for those who like partying, and cheap holidays - but one man has issued a warning.

With pint prices seeming to climb every single time you go to the pub in the UK, many are choosing party hotspots like Benidorm thanks to the unbelievably cheap prices.

But one resident has warned that everything is not as it seems when it comes to these €1 pints.

Benidorm bar owner @frankthestagman said: “Let me tell you something about drinks that you get for €1. They are absolute rubbish.

“Do not waste your time going to places that advertise €1 a pint because you’re getting the absolute… you’re getting the bottom of the barrel, do you know what I mean?”

Frank said that you “get what you pay for”, and it’s worth spending a little more on your tipples so they taste good. He said anywhere that does €1 pints “does it for a reason” and “it ain’t in your interest”.

What's more, splashing out a little bit extra can be a small price to pay to keep yourself feeling healthy while abroad.

He then described the cheap alcohol as “chemical horrible rubbish”, saying: “If you get an upset stomach and all that, your holiday’s over”.

In the comments, some defended one euro pints, saying that they’re “fine” and they’ve “never had a problem with them”.

Others agreed with him though, writing: “Well done Frank about time someone said it”.

Someone who used to work in hospitality added: “We did €1.50 a pint at the bar I used to manage in Tenerife, it was the same Dorada barrel that was used when the offer wasn't on.....”.

Some said it was “sound advice” – but it's clear others won't be following it as they can't resist the affordable booze.

“I’m only going for the cheap pints”, a TikToker admitted.

Another social media user pointed out: “It’'s not an easy thing to find and some places have different prices in the day than the night”.

Meanwhile, others said they were “excited” to go to Benidorm as they were planning holidays there at the moment.
